Members of the class participated in all extra-curricular activities, including sports, cheerleading, majorettes, music journalism d d ' , , an ramatics. Outstanding examples of scholarship and sportsmanship were provided by many seniors. The Class of ,55 was the first to publish its yearbook in the fall as well as the first to use graduation announcements The class cond t l . uc ec two paper drives, a food sale, and presented a talent show. Members of the class attended Student Government Day in Boston, the State Tri-Hi-Y Conference in Pittsfield the W t , es ern Massachusetts Association of Student Councils in Ludlow, the Massachusetts State Band Festival ' B ' in rookline, the Cheerleaders' Tourna- ment in South Deerfield, and the Eastern States Baton Twirling Festival in Holyoke. Twenty-two seniors went on the Washington-New York Class Trip during April vacation and all twenty-two returned. The graduates, including those wearing a pall of commencement night previous, held their Class Picnic at Babb's Beach. The next night, Friday, the seven- teenth, the seniors were joined by the underclassmen at the Senior Reception, where all danced the night through for their shoes, whichever came firstj.
