Potter, Coach Rogers, M. Burke tttt swlivuvi NG Under Joe Rogers, the Amherst High School swimming team had another good year. In their first meet with the University of Massachu- setts freshmen, they were shaded in the final relay. After losing to Classi- cal, Amherst took two thrilling meets from Holyoke, both in the final event. They were then defeated by a fine Williston team. The team took second place in the Western Counties Tournament and third place in the Championship meet. The swimming team's record is really fine, and they deserve a lot of praise for the excellent spirit and teamwork they showed this year. Amherst's best production this year was our fine Medley Relay team comprised of Potter, Staab, and Kennedy. Free-style swimmers were Potter, Cole, Howard, Montague, Fessenden, Burke, and Pearson. Back- stroke members were Kennedy, Wheeler, and Avery. Breaststrokers were Staab, Wicksall, and Fitzgerald. Diving was performed by Ames.
