SCIENCE CLUB In November the Science Club bussed to Harvard University to visit the Agassiz Mu- seum. The club visited the Amherst College Observatory in December and experienced an educational tour under the direction of Mr. Linnell. An unusual talk and demonstration by a taxidermist was enjoyed at a regular meeting. Of course the club has seen many scientific films. Surely the most obvious accomplishment of the club this year was in installing the Science Club News Table opposite Mr. Lacroix's room. On this table are recent scientific pub- lications, the Science Humicorn, and mis- cellaneous exhibits. The more interesting exhibits included Fessenden and Burke's Geiger Counter, and Mr. Swift's Cartesian diver. Officers and advisers: Mr. Oliver, J. Weaver, treas.g D. Damon, pres.g Mr. Lacroixg S. The Hi-Y played an unsuccessful volleyball game with Tri-S. Their alibi for this was that they didn't wish to discourage the girls from playing again. In the return game, however, the Hi-Y defeated the Tri-S by a large margin. A very successful dance was held by the Hi-Y in October. Two encounters with Athol Hi-Y teams were scheduled in the spring. The Hi-Y celebrates after two basketball victories over Athol Hi-Y teams. QOfficials were R. Davis and L. Cromack.j Seated: W. Cole, secretary, Mr. McDonough, advisor, D. Damon, presi- dent: C.
