PUHEWUHU OLIOS, 1i1ce a11 other annua1s, strive to present a tairiy complete published record of the past coliege year in as interesting a manner as possihle. The first part of this assignment is reiatively easy to accomplish,-it is the latter part that contains the gamble in trying to present something that escapes the charge of imitating the preceding year's 13001: and yet contrives to live up to the well-established standard of what comprises an OLIO. This year the innovations are primarily concerned with improving the interest content of the type matter. Two new type faces have been em- pioyed, suh-titles have heen instituted, drawings have heen included, and the write-ups themselves have been shortened, all toward the end that the articles will not appear as forbidding as is sometimes the case. However, layout and photography have not been neglected, with a trend towards iarger candids when the suhject appeared to merit the expense. Such in hrief is the pian of the 1941 01410. It is the sincere hope of the editors that this volume wi11 provide you with an interesting afternoon when you first receive it and that in years to come it may serve with some success to recall the coiiege year of 1941 and recapture for you some ot its atmosphere.
