Page Eig Moen Q 1. STANLEY KING PRESIDENT Stanley King, the eleventh presi- ctent of Amherst College, assumed office in 1932. following an active and prominent career in law and business. After graduating summa cum laude from Amherst in 1903, where he was affiliated with Delta Kappa Epsilon and Phi Beta Kappa, President King received his iV1.A. from Harvard Law School in 1906 and was admitted to the Flas- sactlusetts Bar. Since becoming president, he has been awarded Doctor of Laws de- grees from Dartmouth, Vvesteyan, Colgate. Columlaia, and Xvitliams.

SCOTT PORTER DEAN Charles Scott Porter, '19, joined the Amherst faculty in 1924, becoming assistant professor of Mathematics in 1927, associate professor in 1929, and Dean of the College in 1931. A member of Delta Upsilon, Phi Beta Kappa, and Sigma Xi. Dean Porter started teaching in 1919 as a Mathe- matics instructor at Worcester Polytechnic 1nsti- tute, receiving his 1Vl.A. from Clark in 1932.
