ADULT EDUCATION Learning does not stop after high school graduation. As the world progresses and the individual faces new situations and ambitions in life, he must prepare himself to meet these changes. For this reason, our Amherst Central Adult School offers a program which will comply with thc work, cultural, family, civic, and social needs of the community. The Adult School is open to all adults, regardless of where they live. Residents of Amherst are given preference and former Amherst High School students are urged to return to their Alma Mater. This year, over 4.000 adults attended to make more than 6,800 class enrollments. Courses are ofTered in arts and crafts, business, citizenship, economics, lan- guages, family living, driver education, recreation, and other subjects. New courses will be started in response to com- munity and social needs as seen by our director, Dr. Minich, the Board of Edu- cation, and teachers, or upon the request of twelve prospective students.
