In this highly technical age, mathematics is indispensable. We at Amherst are striving to keep pace with these modern trends by developing an integrated course of the various areas of mathematics at each grade level, and by adopting the most recent state-recommended courses to train students in modern mathematics tech- niques. Also there is an opportunity for seniors of supe- rior ability to participate in a seminar where certain topics of college level are introduced. Our goal is to help equip Amherst students to under- stand the role that mathematics plays in the affairs of today. PAULINE MORRIS: Math ll.
