Remember all the members of our class who proudly wore the multicolored, construction-paper socks that served as a reminder of our last class party. From now on there would be our class plays and formal dances. This was also the Hrst really big year as our class began to be seen and heard on our athletic teams, in the music department, and all other phases of Amherst life. JU IGRS: Rick DuBois, President Dick Gernold, Vice P-resident John Cummings, Treasurer ' Lynne Morris, Secretary Doreen Mfood, Acting Secretary Our Junior year will always be seen as one of our brightest years here. Origi- nality began to be our theme. To start the year ollf right, we won the prize for highest sales in the Student Council Magazine Drive. Then, on the nights of April 29 and 30, an unforgettable play, a wonderful cast, and a marvelous class re- sponded to the aid of the financial support of our prom. Mother is a Freshman was successful from all standpoints, and who will ever forget the shopping bags we carted faithfully for two days. On May 27, 1955, using a theme of Moonlight and Roses and the new gym, we honored the Seniors. Hence, the junior Prom was the sincere, beautiful result of our work. XfVe had truly become an integral part of Amherst life. SENIORS: Our Senior Play, A Murder Has Been Arranged, was one of the most original plays held during our years here. Under the guise of being a ghost, an un- earthly Figure toured our football field, while that night a member of the cast appeared under similar circumstances on the stage. The Senior Ball, with the theme a Midwinter Dream and a color scheme of silver, white, and blue proved worthy of not only its name, but the effort and hard work that had gone into making it a success. Dick Gernold and Peggy Strauch reigned as king and queen of the ball. The Seniors also served as editors of the Tatler, Tower, Triad, and a Tale of Two Tigers with much success. Graduation is the hnal partingg we've Hnished our part at Amherst, and now it's time for others to take our places. Good-bye, Amherst, and thanks for the wonderful memories. 5,5 nfai?
