12 Adriana Platt From the Greek myths come the nine muses. Young and beautiful, they preside over the fine and liberal arts. From the nine, Terpsichore emerges as the daughter of Zeus. Her name is taken from the Greek word ferpsi- choros: terpein meaning to delight and choros mean- ing a dance, according to the World Book Encyclo- pedia. Tryouts for the 1988 Terpsi- chore production were held January ó and .
