New Principal Favors Privilege, Responsibility Students entering Ames High last fall found they were “in a completely different ball game,” to quote the new principal’s favorite remark. Farrar, 35, came to Ames from Westside High School in Omaha, where he served as vice-principal for nine years. He is a member of Phi Delta Kappa and numerous educational groups. School should be a framework of society where boundaries are set with the emphasis on privilege with responsibility, Dr. Farrar summed up his educational philosophy.
