STUDENT COUNCIL The object of Student Council as is stated in the Student Council Constitution shall be to rep- resent the ideas and ideals of the student body, to promote the welfare of the institution, and to develop an understanding and love of democracy through use. Presided over by student body president Lars Laslett first semester and Charles Dahm second semester, Student Council sponsor- ed many school activities throughout the year. Some of the major projects were Back-to-School Night, Homecoming, Career Day, and elections for student body president. The work of the Council was carried out through the following committees: Service, Pub- licity, Assembly, Social, Citizenship, Homecom- ing, Noon Hour, Welcoming, Election, and Awards. Officers this year were: Howard Judge first semester and Steve Grooms second semester vice-presidents; Susie Reed first semester and Beth Strand second semester secretaries; Chuck Boast, treasurer.
