STUDENT COUNCIL FIRST SEMESTER SECOND SEMESTER BOB lX'll'LHALL President BOB WILSON BOE WILSON Vice President ART FISCHER PEGGY HELSER Secrelary ANNE NIILLER XVARREN BUCK Treasurer WARREN BUCK H IC Student Council, the self-governing body of the students, is made up of the presidents of the eighteen home rooms, with Miss VVhite as the new faculty adviser. Meetings of the council were held during the third period every Monday. In these meetings problems concerning the school Or the student body as a whole, were settled. The Student Council is divided into five different committees to care for the business within its jurisdiction. The Social Committee organized the annual Open House, held on November 10, with the council as a whole acting as hosts. The Assembly C'onnnittee had charge of all the assemblies of the year. The Cittizeiisliip cl0ll1IIllii'0l', together with the first semester civics classes, promoted at bicycle eainpaign. The Service Committee had charge of the Lost and Found lbepartment in the school, and held sales to dispose of unclaimed articles. The Publicity Cominittee was kept busy assisting the other committees. A fingerprinting project, in which 165 Senior students in Ames High were fingerprinted, was sponsored by the Student Council in the Spring. There are plans for tl1e juniors tlllil sophomores next fall. The Student Founeil were again hosts for the annual State Leadership Fon- ference held iII Ames on April 21 and 22.
