The Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet was held April 25 at the high school. The junior mothers fixed the meal and the sophomore girls served it. The library was decorated with blue and silver crepe paper and silver stars. Each table held a bouquet of flowers and a silver star place card. After the meal Mrs. Whelchel spoke to us about the Magic Moments in our lifetime. At 9 o'clock we entered the gym through a rose arbor. Upon entering there were tables and chairs on two sides and a fountain in the comer. The ceiling was decorated with draping blue and silver crepe paper sprinkled with stars. Hanging from the ceiling were white clouds and a silver ball that spun around. The music was provided by the Kromatic Experience from Emporia. The stage which was decorated for the band had silver and blue crepe backing and two apple trees stood at the edges. I am sure everyone will agree that this prom was truly a Magic Moment. FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA—an organization of high school students with the purpose to promote good business communication along all people and to develop leadership in a business-like manner. Our chapter has 23 mem- bers, who have been busy all year getting ready for different meetings and conventions. At con- ventions, we entered contests such as Typing, Shorthand, Spelling Relays, and Business English; and we were fortunate to have Rae Ann Gordon elected to the office of State Treasurer. At various meetings, we had speakers, demon- strations, and taken tours of business firms. As a service project, we adopted a family for Christmas. To finance our activities, we sold Tom Watt kits and concessions. To climax the year, the President and Secretary will attend the National Convention at Philadelphia June 9-15.
