I, Eileen Bass, will my perfect attendance record to Delvin Delfs and my mellophone to Gene Fann so he won't have to blow so hard. The Senior Class wills their ability to drive their teachers to distraction to the Junior Class. In Witness Thereof, the Senior Class of 1950, have set our hand and seal hereto this fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifty (1950), Class Poem We hope you will agree That we are rather nifty We’d like to show the spirit Of the class of 1950, Let's start with Eileen Bass You’ll agree she's pretty neat But Max is the guy Who thinks she’s really sweet. Here comes Jeanne Lamb She’s the next in line Just ask any of the boys They’ll say she’s mighty fine. Now sauntering down the hall Comes that Miller lad, Earl No matter how you see it He gives all the girls a whirl. Well, there is Barbara Dyer She’s the smart one of the class But according to Pete She’s his own favorite lass. Now here comes Dorothy Our glamorous blond And of “Smoke Goodell She is very fond. Next there's Pete Goodell He likes to hunt coons We hear there'll be a wedding Before very many moons. When it comes to bright ideas It’s Carol known as “Shep Yet on the basketball court He has an awful lot of pep. Who’s that girl we see next? Why that is Doris Harmon Our crystal ball tells us Someday she’ll take up farmin . There farther down the hall We see Leonard Sowers We know he’d like to send Pat Not only candy but flowers. If it’s a good cook you want Now there is Doris P. W'ho is her beau? Well, we’ll wait and see. Here comes Ruth Rogers She’s really got class Will she go with only Jackie? Well, she let’s the others pass. Want to be a beauty operator? Yes, says Nadyne Lyon And that she will make it There is no denyin’. Here comes Donald P. He drives his father’s car He doesn’t do much But he’s going mighty far. The rest are all gone There’s left only me I’d better go too Don’t you agree? It doesn’t rhyme nor make any sense And it isn’t worth a dime But when it comes to writin’ poems It takes an awful long time. 13 --Jean Robinson

Class Will We, the Senior Class, of the city of Americus, county of I.yon. and state of Kansas, being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament, hereby revoking any will or wills heretofore made by us. We, the Senior Class, do hereby bequeath all our personality, beauty, leadership, intelligence, and initiative to the under classmen. I, Jean Robinson, will my pleasing personality and charming smile to Virginia Cowan so she can keep Russell (or anyone) serious. I, Nadyne Lyon. will to Bessie Fiant my ability to start a good fight anytime, anywhere so it won’t be too quiet and peaceful around A. H. S. next year. I, Doris °racht, will my ambition to be a secretary to the Junior Girls so Mrs. Daily will have a Shorthand Class next year. I, Jean Lamb, will my roller skates to Clayton Finney so somebody else can get all the bumps for awhile. I’m getting tired of sore hands, arms, legs, and eyes. I, L,eonard Sowers, will my ability to put up a good argument even though I know I’m wrong to Lynn Lyon. It’s good practice, Lynn, if you want to be a lawyer someday. I, Carol Shepard, will my ability to think of a crackpot idea for every situation to Pearl Pracht so the students at A. H. S. won't miss me so much next year. I, Wilbur Stegman, will my Model A to Gary Jensen so he 11 have room to take all his girl friends riding at one time. Of course you’d have to put up partitions to keep them from fighting. I, Dorothy Conrade, will my drawing talent to Darlene Allen so the Indian Scout will have good cartoons next year. I, Earl Miller, will my ability to have so many girl friends at one time without the other one finding it out to Bill Duncan. It s a great asset, Bill, if you just use it right. I, Pete Goodell, will my coon-catchin' power to Leslie DeWeese. If you practice at least five nights a week, Leslie, it will keep you from becoming involved with the girls. (Maybe. It didn’t me!) I, Barbara Dyer, will my ability to always get into trouble in Constitution and to write all the front page (or any other page) stories to Barbara Goodell. I, Don °racht, will my job as sports editor to Charlie Bass on account as how I never did it anyhow. (And I don’t suppose he will either.) I, Robert D. Gordon, will my ability to get along with the Senior Class to the Senior Sponsor of '51. (If you teach Constitution and find that print in the back of the book too small to read well, try using your finger. It’s remarkable how it helps you keep your place.) I, Doris Harmon, will my sewing ability to Donna Brasie and my slow graceful walk to Norma Edmiston. I, Ruth Rogers, will my job as cook’s helper to Genevieve Vyatt so that she'll leave the boys alone in the hall and give the other girls a chance. 12
