DANCE Las clases de Baile Regional, diri- gidas por la Sra. Palafox, se impar- ten en tres grupos: 5 y 6 de Pri- maria, Secundaria y Preparatoria. Este aio han estado bastante con- curridas, y las muchachas muy en- tusiasmadasg pues el dia 19 de Mayo se presento el festival de Baile Regional en el auditorio del Colegio. Espera la Sra. Palafox que en el aio entrante habra mas alumnos como los de este ano - y que podran llegar a conocer la cultura de su Mexico a traves del baile. SCHOOL nANcEs An extra dimension was added to the school year when two dances were held in the new auditorium. One took place on Halloween and the other was a Sadie Hawkins Dance complete with a live band and imaginative decorations.

STUDENT COUNCIL El Consejo Estudiantil del Colegio Americano fue oficialmente re-establecido en 1972 con el redac- tando y ratificando de una nueva constitucion estudiantil. Todos los esfuerzos fueron devotados para crear unidad entre todos los estudiantes. Tambien el Consejo Estudiantil se ha dedicado a fomentar nuestra educacion fisica en nuestro co- legio. Fue montado el alambrado para beisbol. El departamento de deportes recibio una cantidad substancial de equipo para deportes. El Consejo pidio a la administracion que se per- mitieran fiestas en el colegio lo cual fue entusias- ticamente concedido. Todos los miembros del Consejo Estudiantil han trabajado muchisimo con el objeto de realizar sus ideales, dando prefe- rencia a los programas atleticos y a las relaciones de hermandad de todos los estudiantes. El exito de este Consejo se debe a dos importantes ideales - orgullo y espiritu. Debemos continuar con mas orgullo y espiritu para asi hacer del Colegio Americano el mejor plantel educativo de esta ciudad. Treasurer: Tedde Bachman l The Student Counsel of the American School was official- ly re-established in 1972 with the drafting and ratification of a new constitution. Empha- sizing unity, the Counsel work- ed hard to better the relations between the members of our student body. The Counsel has also sought to improve our physical edu- cation program. A baseball backstop was erected. T'he sports department received a substancial amount of new sports equipment. The Student Counsel urged the Administration to allow students dances and this pro- posal was enthusiastically ac- cepted. All the members of the 1972 Student Counsel - worked very hard to make this year a most progressive one, particularly with empha- sis toward student relations, athletics and student rights. Our success was determined by two ideals -- pride and spirit. We must continue to boost the pride, unity, and spirit to new heights and con- tinue to make the American School a great school to be in.
