The U.S. Biceniennial Year of 1976 marks the 48th anniversary of the American School Founda- tion of Monterrey. With a modest incipiency in 1928 in Colonia Obispado with a student enroll- ment of 57 and a teaching staff of three, the School has developed into a first-class educational institution of 1255 students. It is recognized as one of the best fully-accredited, bilingual schools in the world. One of the school ' s greatest periods of development has been from 1970 to the present under the ufm f of Superintendent George E. Winslow. Thanks to his sound educational background and keen perceptive visions, ASF has shown great strides of progress . As the United States enters upon its third century of inde- pendence and the ASF approaches its golden anniver- sary , plans are underway for even further improvement in the school ' s physical facilities and instructional program. Despite multiple difficulites, the U.S.A. has maintained its status as a world power in democratic principles. By the same token, ASF has overcome seemingly insurmountable problems, and thanks to the friendly Mexican- U.S. relations, it continues to serve as a paragon for the train- ing of young people to assume leading roles in the community in business, social and public service areas.
