Mrs. Aguirre, the sponsor of the Special English, has introduc' rl 'he p1'0j6C'f method of teaching common in the United States. Early in the year, the pupils are taught the alphabet and the numbers. Later Mrs. Aguirre turns to the project system, each unit of which takes about a month. Through this method, all of the essentials are combined. Countries are studied, since each unit covers one country. The pupils make farm scenes and rural landscapes Cof the country underdiscussi-ony in sandboxes. Arithmetic, history, geography, spelling and handwork are all included in the unit. ' The ages of the 'students range from 8 to 1.7 years. After having learned English, they are promoted to the grades for which they are qualified, , The course covers from five months to a year, depending upon the skill of the student. fmilmiisl X A ff l ll ppl 1 l ll l 'V i -1 'l 'i ' ' !
