This year we 'have hada 'new attraction for many boys and girls. lt is called Badminton and is played down at the Club Racqueta. The game is very similar to tennis. It is played on a rectangular court 'with a net.5 feet liigfli in the center. The implements used to play the game are racquets of a very light weigrhtg and as a ball a round cork with feathers is used. The object of the game is to- put the feather ball over -the net, inside your opponent's court. The scoring is different from that of tennis. If your score is even. irrespective of your L partner's score you serve from your right court to his right court. lf your score is an uneven . ' number the left courts are used. You cannot maketlt Doint unless You Sepvefl that plavg if you did not serve it. and you win, you receive the serve, and 'tllell you may make pOEintA'S. ORSUS This game was played at the Venustiano Carranza Field Where our boys showed the OPPOSIIIIQ' team what toot ball is. 'lhe scoie of this game was 26 to 0 in our favor. Chema Gonzalez made a beautiful run of 105 yards to a touchdown. Javier Parsons was also one of the scoring men. y AMERICAN SCHOOL VS. I. T. I. y Our next struS1'Q'l9 WGS against the I. T I. at the Venustiano Carranza field. Our bovs played a good game, especially those in the line, who played a great game by keeping the I, T. I. from scoring. We also were unable to score. a AMERICAN SCHOOL VS. ALUMNI Our boys arrived at the Venustiano Carrfnza Field expecting to meet the E. I. M. I. Team, but they dld not shovv up. So our coach, Mr. Perry, got up a game with the Alumni. The score of this game turned out to be 7 to 6 in our favor. This Was the last game our boys played, for the foot ball season Was over. RUGBY Rugby is a game like American foot ball but a little rougher. This game is an English sport, although played Widely. Mr. Stech organized a Rugby League of about fifty boys from the American School. He appointed Captains and distributed the boys to form four teams which were evenly matched. Each team was given a name: Vllanderers, Titanics, Crescents, and Rovers. Each team was composed of about twelve man instead the usual fifteen. The standing of the teams at the end of the season is as follows: Played Won . Naturally much Hpep and-'-'entluisiasm were seen in the school halls. Roy Carterls Or- chestra furnished the music, and boy! what music! Witli this orchestra there isn't any reason f0W011d61' why everyone was full of Hpep . The dance ended about 1:30 and everyone was hoping more dances like this one would soon be given. THE LOST PRINCESS The Lost'Princess , an operetta written. by Luacine and Mrs. Clark, was given in the school auditorium on Nov. 17 and 1.8. The charming music was written by Luacine and the delightful libretto by Mrs. Clark. The bewitched and bewitching Princess was played by Co- lena Leach, who sang very sweetly. Luis Betanzo was the gallant prince. Many choruses composed of members of the school gave the operetta a colorful aspect. Two veteran Hares- foot players, Rosellis Mistretta and Luis Unzueta, honored us by playing leading parts. Mrs. Williamson, Mrs. Burgh, and Miss Foster directed the action, dancing, and music. A charming tea was given at the American Embassy for the members of the cast. The songs of the operetta were sung, and lovely refreshments served. 4 BERKELEY SQUARE - Mrs. Williamson 's departure from Mexici was a definite loss. There are to be no more Haresfoot Productions. This ambitious group of young amateurs bade farewell to Mexico City audiences with their production of '4Berkeley Square , a somewhat ambitious attempt. It was presented with the usual success that marks a Haresfoot production. The leading roles were taken by the Misses Helen Shields, Rosellis Mistretta and Gladys Stevens, and Messrs. Mont and Unzueta, each. of whom was excellent in his or her interpretation. Mrs. 1Villiamson madeiher appearance as a member of the cast in this pro- duction. The rest of the cast all did their best to help make the play a success. A very long time will nasi before anyone will be able to fill the place left vacant by Mrs. Williamson and her Haresfoot Players. JUNIOR SENIOR BANQUET It has been customarv in this school for the Juniors to give the Seniors .21 banflllet around the end of the terin. This is usually started about 10 :30 in the morning with. aT2h16'C1CS and water sports. During the banquet some of the Faculty, Juniors, and Seniors give toasts and speeches.
