..4,, I W , -. PNCMZ swp JOHNNIE BR1sTow A Master Chief Johnnie Bristow attended Taylor High School, Taylor, Michigan before he entered the Army. He served three years in the Army Airborne. During this time, he was primarily assigned to Ft. Bragg, NC, and as an early enterprise, he and a friend founded a sport parachuting club. ' . I-n April 1963, Master Chief Bristow enlisted in the naval service and since that time he has served on seven ships. His shore duty assignments have included recruiting duty in Columbia, SC, staff duty with the Office of Chief of Naval Operations,Vat the Bureau of Naval Personnel, with the Chief of Naval Education and Training. Pensaco- la, FL and the Staff of Personnel Support Activity, Charleston. SC. Master Chief Bris- tow's recent assignments was plankowner with the recommissioning crew of USS IOWA IBB 611 and commissioning crew of USS THOMAS S. GATES ICG 531. ' He has- attended George Washington University, the University of South Caroli- na, New Hampshire College and Embrey Riddle Aeronautical University. While assigned to duty in the South Carolina area, Master Chief Bristow earned an FAA certification as a commercial pilot and single and multi-engine and instrument flight instructor. He has taught flyingnat Charleston AFB, SC, Pensacola, FL, and Nor- folk, VA Navy flying clubs. Master Chief Bristow is also a certified scuba diver and ai member of .Capital Divers in Washington, D.C. ' A A Master Chief Bristow wears the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal 63rd awardb, Navy Achievement Medal 13rd awardl and the Combat Action Ribbon. Master Chief, Bristow is married to Faye CTaylorJ Bristow of Graham, North Carolina. They have a son John Jr., age twenty-five, and two daughters, Theresa, age twentyfsix and Patti, age eight. The Bristow's currently residein Virginia Beach, VA.
