A time to think . . . With the thought that there is no royal road to learning, Ambridge Area High School students displayed their capacity for work by taking advantage of the school’s diverse educational program. Presenting a comprehensive course that includes College Preparatory, Commercial, Vocational, and General departments, Ambridge Area High School offers each student a variety of subjects tailored to meet his individual needs. Because over 60 per cent of this year’s 430 graduates will continue their education in some way, Ambridge Area High School takes pride in its Academic program. AHS has long been an area leader in presenting its student with the foundation necessary for them to achieve through thought and hard work. Linda Mehno scored highest on Betty Crocker Future Homemaker of the Year test given on December 6. 9

After a long evening of dancing, couples attending the Mistletoe Ball sit one out for a moment of relaxation, A time to be friendly . . . A happy and joyous team and coach say good-bye to AHS for the week end as they leave for Harrisburg. “No man is an island; no man stands alone.” As expressed by the words of author John Donne, friendships are a basic human need and want. At Ambridge Area High School, students affirmed these words by forming the friendships which will remain as lasting reminders of their high school days. Through its many clubs and service organizations, students enjoyed the experience of group activities. They learned to respect the opinions of others and by expressing and discussing their ideas within a group, students learned to give and take. By joining clubs, students widened their horizons and gave meaning to their years at Ambridge Area High School. n
