THE BOARD OF EDUCATION The Board of Education is largely a policymaking body responsible to the public for the efficient and economical operation of the schools. The members are elected for a period of six years and meet regularly once a month. Frequently, however, special meetings in addition to their regular monthly meetings are held. The Ambridge Board of Education is composed of six standing committees which usually meet before each regular meeting to consider the business pertaining to the work of each of the respective committees.
