S TLIDE T C0 NCIL COUNCIL CEMENTS STU DENT FACU LTY RELATIONSHIPS Under the leadership of Miss Clara Klap prodt the Student Council has put ln a very active year The Council is composed of thir teen members representing the home rooms, three from the freshman, three from the sopho more three from the junior, and four from the senior classes The purpose of this organization is to help bring about better relations between students and faculty, to help m solving some of the social problems of the students of A H S and to sponsor social activities of the school such as the Freshman Party, held for the purpose of acquaxntmg the freshmen with the faculty and upperclassmen nother social event was Parent Night, held during American Education Week, to acquaint the parents with the subjects their children are taking in school Besides sponsoring social activities, the Coun ing money for charitable organizations such as sending CARE packages to Europe To highlight the activities for the year, the Council members attended the Annual Student Council Convention held in Peoria Schools from the entire state send representatives to these conventions for the purpose of exchang ing ideas for the betterment of student coun cil work throughout the state Besides this workshop session, a banquet and dance furnish a period of relaxation and entertanunent for all present Buxxard Claw .., I 7 7 .
