California. We have selecfed Main Sfreef fo represenf fhose faifh- ful friends on fhe faculfy who represenf fhe confinuous flow of feaching fhaf fills fhe classrooms af Sandieland. We honor fhe fraining of foday's sfudenfs as fomorrow's cifizens in fhis afomic- safellife age in our Tomorrowland secfion. We feel fhaf fhe counf- less dozens of organizafions, deparfmenfs, afhlefic and co-curricular acfivifies offer us a real advenfure in our preparafion of our fufure years. We have fabbed fhis Advenfureland. Our Queen, favorifes, cheerleaders, Who's Who and our Miss Sandieland remind us of fhe sforybook pasf as Fanfasyland. Those fine supporfers who have made fhis edifion possible wifh financial aid are indicafive of fhe faifh and cooperafion of fhe early pioneers who laid fhe foundafion for our prairie Fronfierland which is now a growing cify. Amarillo High School has been known as Sandieland for many years, due fo fhe repufafion of fhe famous Golden Sandsform afhlefic feams. This year, in parficular, A.H.S. has been a magic kingdom. Our own principal, Dr. R. B. Norman, served as Presidenf of fhe Nafional Associafion of Secondary School Principals. One of our senior sfudenfs, David Park, was named lnfernafional co-presidenf of fhe Allied Youfh. Our Golden Sandie foofball feam received fop raf- ings and swepf across fheir opponenfs in gridiron classics fhrough fhe fall. Our sfudenfs received counfless sfafe and nafional awards and scholarships. Our publicafions, liferary feams, musical and voca- fional groups won honors on regional, sfafe and nafional levels. All fhese wonderful memories and our learning made fhis a magic year af Sandieland which is, in a way, OUR OWN isneyland Page 3
