6 Amarillo It is always a real pleasure to salute the student body and the ex-students of Amarillo College. The presentation of the yearbook is a particularly fitting occasion to do this. The Palo Duro is the end product of many hours of thought-planning and actual labor of many different people. This yearbook we believe to be a very fine product both in its aesthetic appeal and in the material covered. Congratulations to the staff and the sponsor. Those of you who examine its pages will gather much pleasure from the personalities and their activities shown therein. Many of these people will represent a small island of intimate friends of each of you. Their activi- ties may renew memories of the past wherein you took part in similar activities. As the years pass the records presented in this yearbook will become more and more precious to you. You may even develop a nostalgia for the old friends and places and even for a few of your favorite professors. For those of you who are now in college this yearbook is in part your own record. My hope is that each of you has made a contribution to this composite cross section of life at Amarillo College. You will continue to make a record of one kind or another as you travel along the road of formal education or as you enter upon some gainful and socially useful occupation.
