9 HaUf eHaeHtl Earl Fornell Sponsor Don Reynolds President Jim Restine Vice-President Lucy Gregory Secretary Eula Faye Riley Treasurer Bill Stewart Ways and Means Committee Each year there is a group of students not affiliated with a sorority or fraternity who band together as the Independents under a mutual project of betterment of school spirit. This year ' s ac- tivities of the organization have included sponsorship of a dinner for an underprivileged family at Christmas, a city-wide project effected by the Salvation Army, and the launching of a plan through which three scholarships will be awarded annually to students of the spring graduating classes of the three local secondary schools.
