GAMMA THETA CHI Gamma Theta Chi was organized inFebruary, 1940, under the name of C.Q. C. and was changed to a Greek letter sorority on October 20, 1940. The sorority was organized by Mrs. Agatha Shaw, under the directionof Dr. J. F. Mead, with twelve charter members. Membership is by invitation only. Mrs. Wilda H. Talbot is the sponsor. KAPPA DELTA CHI Kappa Delta Chi, the oldest social sorority on the campus, was founded in 1929 with Mrs. Al Baggett as sponsor. In 1947 Miss Scharleen Barker became sponsor. It has been one of the most socially active sororities in Amarillo College. Kappa Delta Chi pledges are presented at a formal Christmas dance. Other annual traditions are a falltea, an Easter breakfast, and a spring coffee.
