I came from Laos, arriving in the United States seven months ago, and I've been staying with my American family ever since. I' ve been attending Ama- dor since September and I know a lot about how the students study in High Schools in the U. S. I like the idea of American high schools, which is very good, and satisfies me too. In my country we have no choice of the subjects that we like to study. The government orders and offers the subjects to us that we have to study each year. We know what we have to study when the school year starts. One thing that is very different is that when we miss a test, we can't make it up the next day. And this thing makes me like Ameri- can high schools very much. I think the kids in any high school are almost the same. Even in my country or here: there are some who are good and some who are troublesome.
