MISS AUGUSTA JORDON is completing her third year of teaching shorthand and typing. A graduate of Sam Houston, this year she sponsored the National Honor Society and helped spon- sor The Clarion and the sopho- more class. MISS BESSIE MAE KEE, who taught English Ill and IV this year, was a senior class sponsor, as well as supervisor of UIL ready vvriting contestants. She has a B.S. from Sam Houston and an M.Ed. from the University of Texas. lfgli if. MRS. LUCILE MASON is reading teacher and sponsor of the Reading Club. A iunior spon- sor, she has a B.A. in Social Stu- dies trom Southwestern Univer- sity and an M.A. from the Uni- versity of Houston. O'NElL McCAFFETY, algebra and plane geometry instructor, is another new member of the faculty. A first-year teacher, he was graduated in T957 from Sam Houston. He was one ot the sophomore class sponsors this year. - JIM LANSFORD, physical ed- ucation teacher and coach of the Yellovviacket line, is completing his third year in Alvin. He has both a B.S. and M.Ed. from the University of Texas. CARL F. LOVETT teaches chemistry in both high school and iunior college. He earned his B.S. in that subject from S.VV.T.S.C. in 1942. ROBERT HEIL, a T954 gradu- ate ot the University of Houston, teaches biology, American history, and world history. One of the senior sponsors, he also super- vised UIL spelling entrants this year. TILLMAN HENRY, who teaches English Ill and IV, was chairman ot the senior class spon- sors this year, director ot the Ull. one-act play, and sponsor ot the Dramatics Club. Mr. Henry has a B.S. from Sam Houston. AUBREY HORNER was a new addition to the faculty this year. A graduate of Southwest Texas State, with a B.S. in Education, he coached tennis and was an as- sistant basketball coach. MISS HELEN A. HORTON, who teaches piano, harp, and or- gan, says she enioys concerts, plays, photography, and good movies as pastimes.
