The month of May might have been normal for many people, but many events took place that shocked the world. On the 13th of that month an attempt was made on the Pope's life by a Turkish fugitive. Through medical care and faithful prayers he mirac- ulously survived. After years of proven loyalty to the United States and struggles for peace in the Middle East, Egyptian President, Anwar Sadat was assassinated. For months the world watched the Poles suffer. One man, Lech Walesa who stood out for his peoples rights, was im- prisoned for causing uprisings.
