Perhaps most effective in this area is the elec- tive program at Alverno. Through the different subjects a girl is encouraged to discover and utilize her talents. Art provides a girl with the oppor- tunity to express her originality and artistic abilities. Sewing gives her the chance to learn and apply cre- ativity in a necessary household task. Music and drama give her the opportunities to enlarge upon What- ever inert talents she may possess.
