Joanne for an advertising campaign. BUT THEY LOOK PURPLE WITH THAT LIGHT . . . Dramatists, Karen Praisler and Carolyn Frank- lin, discuss a lighting problem. The Drama Club provides en- joyment for its audiences and members. Sophomores, ju- niors, and seniors exercise their individual talents and learn to use speech and move- ments effectively. Through the year the members, under the direction of Sister Joanne, grew in an appreciation for dramatic art. Sophomores, juniors and sen- iors interested in music, folk singing and guitars now have their own organization-the I-Iootenanny Club. Supervised by Sister Joanne, members gathered to sing their fav- orite songs to the accompani- ment of guitars. IMPROMPTU? . . . HARDLY! . . . IN SERVICE TO THE WORLD . . . Red Cross members, Anne Jordan, Donna Reiher and Deidre Devereux advertise a Red Cross project. This year Alverno under the direc- tion of Miss Anderson initiated its first Red Cross Club, The activities ranged from volunteer Work to an international exchange of culture, Which involved many students. The girls sponsored a successful Christmas party for a nearby convalescent home. The remark- able generosity and service shown by the girls proves that the Red Cross has a great future at Alverno. 140 Red Cross Club Promotes Service Classical Club Increases Interest Under the guidance of Mrs. Keese junior and senior Latin students formed the Classical Club to stimulate interest in Roman culture and myth ology through the study of the Latin language. On December 7, the Class ical Club celebrated the feast of Saturnalia with a Roman banquet complete with togas, a Latin hoot enanny and the adoption of the Classical Club charter. Study of this question has produced the most Well-balanced training program American edu- cators have devised: a program of leadership, sportsmanship, and physical education.
