Anthony, moderator, Parme Kay Plancich, vice- prefectg and Kathy Viery, mission chairman assemble candy wreaths for Tijuana orphans. Sodalists Visit To achieve the Sodality aim of bring- ing Alverno girls closer to Jesus through Mary, Sodality members assume various spiritual and social undertakings during the year. First Saturday Masses and meetings bring the girls closer in a spiritual bond. Tijuana excursions to deliver clothes and food to the poor, trips to Five Acres, a nearby orphanage, and visits to rest homes, highlight the Sodality's apostolic activities. A SPECIAL FAVOR . . . Sodality members, Jeanette Hurst, Beth Eckhart and Mary Regas make a brief visit to the grotto shrine. I-IEAVE HO! . . . Diligent sophomores load a truck for Tijuana with clothing and toys. 124

Sophomores Uphold The Service Club, a select groupof sopho- mores chosen to give service to Alverno, performs various duties: collecting daily attendance slips during homeroom peri- ods, setting up chairs for numerous dis- cussions and assemblies, Working in the cafeteria lunch line and keeping the campus orderly. The members also direct parents at Back-to-School Night and help prospective freshmen on entrance exam- ination day.
