W. SCIILECEL DH. ALBERT G. The theme of the 1950 llorseshoe, Altoona Iligh School on Parade, is a challenge. Viewed from one aspect, life is a continuous parade of persons and events. The progress of this community or of any community is made hy people moving forward together. The progress of communities becomes the progress of the nation. We must, in our modern life. develop leaders and marshals from our groups who will lead the parade in the right direction and at a judicious pace, wisely and firmly toward a successful future. For we cannot he static-we must either march forward or retreat into an already outgrown past. To march together, to follow a trustworthy leader, or to hecome a trustworthy leader--that is our part in the hig parade. During your school life a serious effort was made hy your teachers, adminis- trators, and members of the Board of Education to provide all the necessary train- ing that young people should receive in order to march in this parade of life. It is our sincere hope that your future. in whatever work von may enter, will he a verv successful and happy one. A ' ' class of 1950. C1 in gra tlllilflllllh. . 11
