S. is capably and efficiently conducted by the members of the student Senate. This group is made up of representatives from the sophomore, junior, and senior classes and every major organization of the school. Many of the little things,- as Well as some more important accomplishments around A. H. S., are the result of the efforts of the Senate members. Along the entertainment line, the students witnessed a gala event when the Senate sponsored one of the first dances of the year-the Hallowe'en Dance. This group aided the American Legion Auxiliary by collecting food and soap coupons for the benefit of veterans in Valley Forge hospital. They took part in the observance of American Education Week, helped in the book drive, and were active in collecting student contributions for the March of Dimes. College afternoon was sponsored by the Senate. The group provided ushers not only for this occasion but also for P. T. A. night and Visitors' Day. This year the Senate constitution was revised. Much interest was shown in helping other schools organize stu- dent governments. Six delegates Were sent to the Student Government Convention. The sophomore members of the organization take care of the indispensable Lost and Found department and in case you're wondering who trimmed the trees in the light- wells at Christmas-the Senators did that, too.

The acult Expert Counsellors They're Human! Harmony in the classroom, teamwork in sports, and cooperation in all school activities are obtained under the guidance of the A. H. S. faculty. These capable, well trained people are not only our advisers and teachers -they are also our friends. Although we, the pupils, must assume responsibility for our own classroom work, although we plan parties, dances, and other activities, all eyes turn to the teachers when new problems and difficulties arise. They help us to solve these problems. The members of our faculty have earned degrees from institutions located in many parts of the United States, a few have studied in other countries. Their experience has been rich and varied. They are actively interested in community affairs. They are fully qualified to prepare us for good citizenship. At the beginning of the school year, ten of the group were serving in the Armed Forces. During the first semester, Messrs. Moore, Lamont, Whittaker, and Wood returned to civilian life, six are still in the Service. Front Row-Mr. Haverstick, Miss Krouse, Miss Bloomfield, Miss Plitt, Mr. Smith, Mr. C.
