S. is human. They col- lect all sorts of things. They enjoy howling, ping- pong. and other active sports. They have traits as different as night and day. They have good and bad days, the same as other people. They have in- terests as far removed from each other as East is from West. Theyirc graduated from colleges and universities all over the United States, and some have even studied abroad. They have travelled in almost every continent. They have patience and endurance to sponsor our activities. They find time to do their part in national defense. Their reper- toire includes everything from P. T. A. speeches to attending air-raid warden classes, with various other extra-curricular activities thrown in to assure them of a full but varied day. 'LThey7' are our thoroughly human, Completely versatile faculty. Page Fourteen

Proceeds of various after-school dances were contributed to the Red Cross, War Relief, and other similar organizations. The issuing of identification tags in case of air raids was another project. If you thrilled to the reception given Janet Blair tl.,al'- fertyl, you have the Student Senate to thank for arranging it. Perhaps you lost a gym bag. a glove, or a prxcketbookwchances are it turned up in the 'aluost and Foundwg or it may be that you gleaned information at the annual College Night concern- ing the school that you wish to attend next yearg or you may have given food for your admission to a dance and at the same time helped some less fortunate family have a better Christ- mas-just three more of the worthy doings of this organization. The Senate members representing the classes, four in number, are selected in their sophomore year and continue until they are graduated. Each year, however, one senior mem- ber of every major organization is selected for membership in this body. Just as all alert citizens of the nation have had a busy year, so have the twenty-three A. H. S. Senators. Page Sixteen
