Michael Jackson Thrills The World Michael Jackson won an unprccident-ed 8 grammys, including the top two awards- single record of the year for Beat It and album of the year for Thriller , which spawned seven top 10 singles and has sold a record 0 million copies worldwide. He also picked up three best male vocalist awards for rock with Beat It , rhythm and blues with the single Billie Jean and pop with Thriller . Alton School Employees Strike 5 Days Family Of John Bryant Dedicate Book In Alton High Library Bill Lyons Day Alton High School 1976 graduate Bill Lyons was welcomed back in a ceremony organized by F.B.L.A. Bill was an outstanding baseball player for AHS and in 1983 was hired by the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Team as an utility fielder. Bill was awarded a plaque of appreciation by Dr. Middleton. F.B.L.A. Sponsor Wilma Bricker and F.B.L.A. President Michele Boswell. Alton High Gets First Video Yearbook AHS is the first high school to have a Video Yearbook. Copy Cat Video had video taped many events of the year such as the Mr. Irresistable Dance pictured here. Sue Wilson and Claudia Walter, the Copy Cat creators, were interviewed and featured on several national T.V. shows including Good Morning America. The Tatler Staff welcomes the video yearbook and wishes Copy Cat many years of success at AHS. In June of 1983 a group of AHS students went to Mexico for 8 days. They stayed at the Purua Hidalgo Hotel in Mexico City. They went on many tours and visited the Metropolitain Cathedral. Chapultepec Park. The National Palace, the Pyramids, and a bullfight. They also visited Taco. The Silver Capital of the World and Acapulco. 2 — Features
