Editors' Message To the Student Body of Alton Senior High School: As the Inst page of the Taller is mailed off to the publisher, the 197(5-1977 Taller Staff has begun to realize just what a great task it has been. Last year, with the addition of the ). B. johnson Center to our facilities, we made the decision to move the Taller Staff away from the main campus, in keeping with the tradition of excellence set by having Mr. Dale Livengood as our advisor. It has. by no means, been an easy transition. Along with a whole new environment, the Taller Staff chose to change the traditional staff organization and adopted an original plan with eight students forming the Editorial Staff, instead of just one editor, and a Coordinating Staff, named under various titles. This took extreme effort and personal sacrifice to make it all work, blit along with the rest of the staff's cooperation, we feel that we have produced a book to the best of our abilities. As the 1976-1977 school year comes to a close, so ends another year of events which affect our immediate lives: our activities, achievements, friends, feelings and hopes for the future. The purpose of a yearbook is to capture these events and through the camera's lens preserve the memories, but it is up to you. the students, to give them value. We give this book to you. the student body, and dedicate it to the school and tradition it represents. 21
