AHS has been fortunate in h a v i n g Mr. George Boyd as its principal these past two years. Coping with common and cru- cial problems, directing the office personnel, and supervising school functions has been Mr. Boyd's main interest. Because he has worked for and with us, and because he has given generously of his time and wisdom, words are poor substitutes with which we e x p r e s s our respect and admiration for Mr. Boyd. 116 The smooth operation of any school dis- tirct is the responsibility of its superinten- dent of schools. Dr. T.H. Reaves has proved to be the capable and talented man that the position requires. Striving to make Alton a better school is one of Dr. Reaves' main goals. Through- out the school year he has worked with the faculty to create new ideas in the curricu- lum. His understanding and enthusiasm have aided in tackling the many difficulties which have arisen in RIV School District. Alton School is grateful for the interest and concern that Dr. Reaves has contribut- ed to his position. 117 GETTING US ORGANIZED 118 The 1973-74 School Board is as follows: President, Dale Johnson; Vice-President, Wayne Johnson; Secre- tary, Leroy Chronister, Jeff Griffith, Hardin Franks, and Joe Stubblefield.
