dm! 2177! My dear Student Body: Someone has said, Ult is better to light one small candle than to curse in the darkness.U How right they are! One can complain about his situation in life and never better it, but he who lights the candle, whether small or great, brings cheer and warmth to those about him. The smallest person can complain or quit. It takes a man to dare to brave cheerfully obstacles in his path. we are living in a glorious era during which more progress has been made in fifty years than in all the other preceding ages. How happy we should be to live in this period of enlightenment and under standing. As you participate in the fine art of living during this glor- ious era, light your candle so that you may contribute in service to those about you, and finally, to those who follow in your wake. The candle light in the Alto Public Schools has burned bright- ly. Your efforts produced the light. we are genuinely grateful to each of you who helped to keep the light burning. Let it grow.
