1980 ST 4 M A pleasant sight greets you in the office. At Althoff, May is a month of social events, but it started with a test of academic strength. On May 3, a . V.VV VV.Iw. ' w.W; team of our best students was sent to McKendree College to participate in the Curriculum Challenge. .M|..Mr,r r .„„„„l The Parent-Senior Mass and Breakfast showed the |‘“ S. ‘v.;, $ .| social aspect by bringing together the entire class to f. reflect on past years and to honor their families. The v : $ W Senior Prom, Best of Times ' , was held on May 9. wrJLrJ Everyone danced and talked their way through an enjoyable evening. Afterwards a party was given for the first time at Panorama to provide a safe night for all. On May 17, the Fine Arts Banquet honored all who participated in the arts, while the sports world at Althoff wrapped up the season. Girls ' softball and boys ' baseball came through with winning records as did the girls ' track team. Boys ' track avoided a losing record for the first time in several years. May was much too busy to include even one more event, so on June 1, the Senior Class proudly graduated at St. Peter ' s Cathedral. June also saw the completion of Crusader Update ' 86. The photographer, Mr. Guiciardo, provides a lasting memory for the excited couple Bishop Keleher congratulates Cecelia York on her accomplishments

The beginning of March brought a sigh of relief from students who were glad to see the arrival of Spring. Several sports got under way, namely boy ' s tennis, softball, baseball, and track. On March 23, the Mother ' s Club held another successful auction. Students received an Easter break from March 26-29. Students who merited high honors for the first three quarters of the school year were honored at the An¬ nual Honors Banquet. At the beginning of April, rest¬ less seniors began dreaming of graduation day, which was a month away. The first step towards graduation came on April 8 when seniors received their gradu¬ ation announcements. Once again, the Drama De¬ partment excelled in their presentation of Guys and Dolls which premiered on April 25. Big Jule (Sam Davis) starts the crap game in Guys and Dolls . The Morality class conducted a baby Eggsperiment in April. Angie Demmick and her mom enioy the Honors Banquet festivities. Greg Ittner attempts to steal second. Dave O ' Neill and Chuck Volpert practice dissection on their Anatomy cat. 8
