WITH EYES TOWARD THE FUTURE! Time is measured in many ways —seconds ticked off by a heartbeat, minutes wasted during class, hours suffered at football practice, days of preparation for a prom, eight months of homework. A yearbook is one year of time measured in terms of people —their joys and their sorrows, their quick-silver dreams and their cynicisms, their loves and their hates, their conquests and sometimes their failures. One year of time —such a small piece of life and yet a big one if that year falls within our high school days — our best days! Those are days when conquest does not necessarily mean victory, when joy does not necessarily mean happiness, when failure is not eternal and success not perpetual. A yearbook is not just one hundred or more pages of pictures and writing, cover included. It is an organized sketch of one year of memories. And so with eyes toward the future, let us stop for a time, pick up our yearbook, leaf through the pages and catch a glimpse of the past.
