CALENDAR 1967 - Aug. 24 —Football practice begins. Aug. 29 —Freshmen are introduced to school life, Althoff style! Aug. 30 —Fr. Orlet introduced as new A.C.H.S. principal. Aug. 31 — Full day of school for everyone. Sept. 6 —J.V. Cheerleader tryouts. Sept. 7 —Senior photographs. Sept. 8 —Football Kickoff Dance opens another great sea¬ son. Sept. 14 —First Mothers ' Club meeting — mothers have a chance to meet the A.C.H.S. Faculty. Sept. 15 —Althoff battles Collinsville to a scoreless tie. Sept. 16 —Frosh squad defeats O ' Fallon 21-0. Sept. 18 —Bishop Zuroweste celebrates Althoff ' s All School Mass; Sophomores trample O ' Fallon 30-0. Sept. 19-20 —Underclassmen Photos are taken; the Year¬ book staff hopes they ' re good. Sept. 22 —Althoff outlasts a tough Edwardsville squad 7-0. Sept. 25 —Crusader newspaper subscription and patron drive begins; the proceeds will help to give Althoff its best newspaper; Sophomores take Edwardsville 40-12. Sept. 26 —Annual Freshman — Mother Mass and Breakfast. Sept. 27 —Freshman shut out Cahokia 34-0. Sept. 29 —Althoff suffers the first of only two losses at the hands of C.B.C. 13-7; end of first full month of school, one down and eight to go. Oct. 2 —Sophs tie C.B.C. 0-0; Marquette ' s Frosh squad crumbles to Althoff ' s 12-0. Oct. 6 —End of first grading period, hard times ahead. Oct. 9 —Sophomores continue their winning season at the expense of Assumption 26-0; annual fire drill takes place. Oct. 10 —A.C.H.S. Sophs-12, East st. Louis-9. Oct. 12-13 —Annual Diocesan Teachers Institute meeting held at Althoff. Oct. 14 —Varsity adds Augustinian to its long list of victo¬ ries; Freshmen defeat Augustinian Frosh for their fifth straight shutout. Oct. 16 —Sophomores outscore Assumption 7-6. Oct. 20—Belleville championship game results in a hard- fought tie 6-6. Oct. 21 — Annual Junior Play is a big success; the Sophs topple Marquette 32-0; Frosh outpasses C.B.C. 7-6. Oct. 24 —B.T.H.S. West Sophs fall to Coach Fizer ' s squad 40-19. Oct. 27 —The Student Council sponsors the Homecoming Dance with the stage show by the Sing-Out St. Louis group; Theresa Biver reigns as 67-68 Homecoming Queen. Oct. 28 —Best Homecoming Parade in Althoff ' s history; Alumni gathers to watch the Crusaders lose a valiantly fought battle 20-13; Sophs win, Frosh team loses first and only game of the season. Nov. 1 — Nobody came so the school made it a free day; it was also All Saints Day. Nov. 2 —Freshman team takes B.T.H.S. West for its last game and final victory. Althoff-20, B.T.H.S.-13. Nov. 4 —Marquette falls 33-0; Sophs-32, Augustinian-7. Nov. 10 —Veterans ' Day —free. Nov. 11—Crusaders sketch out a close one, Althoff-19, Lin¬ coln-18. Nov. 13 —Sophs take Cahokia 27-19. Nov. 17 —Althoff retains the bell as the fighting Crusaders stop Assumption 26-20 in the Orphan Bowl game. Nov. 18 —Jean Fritch succeeds Miss Sue Gaa as Orphan Bowl Queen. Nov. 23 — Thanksgiving ends the second grading period; Students thank God that they made it this far! Nov. 27 —Senior boys retreat to King ' s House for some spir¬ itual maintenance.
