Portrait Place “Again, please!” stated Director Edwin Temples as he in- structed band camp students to repeat the last sixteen steps. The sixty-five students spent eight hours a day for five days in the broiling August sun to practice marching and maneuvers. Mr. Temples, who had been sick the previous year, com- mented, “It feels great, physically and emotionally, to be back. Although their sound is ‘great’,” he continued, “the band needs to practice marching.” The opening music for half time and competition shows was “Sirocco,” followed by “Eli’s Comin’.” The last selections were “Trade Off,” played by the drumline, and “Man In The Mirror.” The results of competitions were good.
