WHEN THIS NUMBER IS CALLED, OUR ORDER iS READY n this our Bicen- tennial Year, we reflect back on depression, and wars, along with prosper- ity faced by America, and find that this young country has only just begun, S rains of ever so coarse sand pass Slowly through the infinite hour glass Beckoning one's mind to travel to the past To a struggling nation they said wouldn't last, The road ahead was long and bleak But through their stamina they did seek. Head held high the United States is proud To be a part of the ever-moving crowd Of streaming life among the peoples of the world From the fighter of wars, to the unfurled Flag of the magnificent Olympic games. Two centuries is but an inch of a mile When you stop to think that we'll stay awhile If all goes well in the third hundred years And the next generations will have no fears if they keep the strength of their forefathers.
