Carolyn Dalton gives the announcements to Mrs. Spradlin during first period. This is only one of the many services provided by a capable and efficient office staff. They keep the school running smoothly. Mr. Cline dictates one of many daily letters to Mrs. Hunley as the hectic school day begins.

AHS Graduate Teaches With Her Former Instructors The Mathematics Department of Altavista has introduced accelerated courses in the last two years, due to a new series of text books. Though the strain of getting used to a new system has been hard on both the students and teachers, they've borne up with flying colors. In the scene pictured here, we've caught our three teachers in some of the routines in putting one of the three R's across. Mrs. Carper and Mrs. Moorman taught Miss Newman math during her high school years. Miss Newman is a recent A.H.S. graduate and it is her first year of teaching. Miss Newman queries, ‘Come on now! Can't you do better than that? ' Below she checks a bulletin board. Mrs. Carper checks her mailbox ing before going to her classroom. first thing in the morn- At her desk, Mrs. Moorman stacks the homework papers she has just collected from her advanced math class.
