xxere bexxuldered and went through the usual PYOCLSS of getting 3CqU21lnteCl With hlgh school lufe We Were durected by Mrs Anne Bolte and Muss Irene Barley Soon we became aware of the fact that the tume had come when we should settle down and go to work We had our furst electron of class officers whuch xuas 1 thrullmg event for all of us Vurgunua Cunduff was elected Presndent and George Brown and Pete Shelton represented Our Cl:1Ss on the Student Councul We selected our motto floxx er and colors Sunce our motto xxas Seekers Are Funders xx e shall endeax or to carry ut out through our four years rn hugh school About slx weeks passed and report eards Came out Many of us found that we would have to study much harder to achleve a hugh goal We settled doxxn and found that we could get along much better by puttlng forth just a luttle more effort Examlnauons rolled around and there were very few fallures The end of Our Fresh men year came before we realuzed ut We found that we had now as a thorough Student Councrl Presrdent Out of the 76 members we had when we entered hugh school as Freshmen we have novu only 36 Many have been ealled to serve therr country and stull others have dropped out to go to work We are happy to haxe Boston Lambert who served over two years un the Navy ln our graduatung class Early un the fall vue placed the order for our class puns eallung cards and unvutatuons What a queer sensatuon thus gave us' We were really Senuors and ewpected to graduate un june' We feel that our members are well rounded unduvrduals sports mean mueh at Altavusta Hugh School and our cl ss has more than uts share of lettermen these enthusuastle sports adducts formed a Monogram Club wrth theur aums to rause money for the Athletre fund and set standards for gettung theur letter Through the Dramatucs elass we duscovered that quute 1 number of us had a flarr for uetung and un the I- H A we duscovered many future home makers We closed school after exams un December for a wonderful Chrustmas vacatuon We returned un anuary to really begun work on the annual un earnest under the edutorshup of Vurgunua Cunduff wuth Inez Robertson as Busr ne s Manager Although tume was runnung out flst we hld fun vuorkung on ut and actually got ut to press on tume' The Senuor Class decuded Vurgmua Cunduff deserved the D A R axy ard W e felt that Vurgunua had well fulfilled the qualuficatuons for thus honor un her four years of hrgh school Early un the Sprmg xxe vyere g1xen a prom bx the Junuors The decoratuons were beautuful and our colors flower and motto vuere used Hovx xxe hated to see 12 o clock roll around after we d been Cunderellas and Prunce Charm ungs all evenuns, The next bug event on our calendar vu as the Senuor play We had looked forward to thus occasuon all year Mrs Herbert Frazuer helped durect the play We were verv proud of thus because we thought vue mught not be able to guxe ut rf wc couldn t flnd someone to dureet us After the play tume flexx by ex en faster unvut1tuons and puns arruved ut vuas tume to practuce for com mencement and our final examunatuons had to be taken' Before xxe realuzed ut Commencement nught vuas here and our happy days
