166 190 194 FRESHMEN FACULTY CLUB MUGS Over 800 strong, Utah’s lar- gest and Alta’s last freshmen class get into the swing of high school life. Frosh portraits are pictured here along with thoughts on elementary school days and the new hall monitors. With the tremendous num- ber of students, it takes many of employees to run the school. The teachers, adminis- trators, and counselors all worked to educate and pre- pare us for the future. Support services of secretaries, aides, custodians, and lunchworkers made daily life a little more comfortable, tasty, and clean. This is not the most scenic section of the book, but if you are in a club, your mug is here. Approximately 30 organiza- tions all smiled for the camera. Each group offered something for the varied interests of Alta High. Faces 91

The “ln”-crowd, “ln”telli- gent, “IrV’volved at Alta High School. The leaders of the school, SBO’s, AWA and MASH along with the cheer- leaders and songleaders. all planned for a fantastic year. And also, the brains of the school: Honor Society, Aca- demic Decathalon, Sterling Scholars, and Girls Boys state dedicated themselves to the goal of educational excel- lence. The last year for the seniors of 1987. A special three page collection of color: the tradi- tional class picture, candids of seniors at their best and worst, tributes to best friends, and some insight into some of the senior’s fantasies. Traditionally the busiest year in school, juniors keep themselves amused with A.P. classes, trips to Washington D.C.. ACT tests and the Junior Prom. In this section are pic- tured class officers who planned this busy and exciting year. Juniors also recall their fondest elementary school memories. Sophomores seem to be the class in the middle with some- times very little identity, but spirited class officers worked to involve their class in activi- ties at the Alta Fair, their class dance, and other school ac- tivities. In this section, sopho- more volunteer a quote on var- ious subjects — and some caught in freeze frame show their stuff. 90 Faces
