ENDURANCE Exactor Speed, strength, and endurance, were the essential elements for the success of the 160 track members. All events, from discus to running, required a high degree of compe- tency and agility. “Track is more of an individual sport,” stated Tom Moore. “We do give each other a great deal of sup- port though.” Preparing every day during and after school for track meets, the team had workouts that consisted of weightlifting, distance running, and sprinting. “The workouts were hard, but in the end they really paid off! said Bill Haight.
