Squads Gain EXPERIENCE While the freshman, sophomore, and junior varsity basketball teams don’t get the same attention and support as the varsity team, they work just as hard to earn a respectable record. The freshman team had a disappoint- ing year. Chris Salisbury said even though their record wasn’t the best they learned a lot throughout the year. “Our coaches helped us learn to play as a team. They were very patient with us and taught us a lot.” The sophomore team finished the year with a 4 and 10 record. Coach Dustin attributes their success to the dedication of the players. The kids work really hard and do what they are On the road. Cricker Hallsey shows grace under pressure. asked. They stay organized both during the games and during practices, so they are ready to learn.’’ On the verge of playing varsity ball, junior varsity members play under extra pressure to succeed. Their 3 and 11 record doesn’t accurately represent their skill. According to Coach Black they are a talented team who never give up. “They work extremely hard together knowing that when they win. they win as a team. In spite of their record, they never stopped trying. Members of all three of these under- rated teams played well in a difficult year with one objective in mind: to make the varsity team.
