Practice Makes GYMNASTS The audience comes to a com- plete hush as the gymnast ap- proaches the bars, taking one slight pause to put chalk on heavily sweat- ing hands. She stops, takes one deep breath while looking up at the bar that seems to be a hundred feet off the ground, and lunges forward to begin a miraculous routine .. . Gymnastics is definitely one of the most strenuous, body-toning sports at Alta. The girls work out for at least three hours every day. not counting the dynamic meets they win. Togetherness is definitely a strength within the girls. “We use our team unity as an ad- vantage, commented Niki Lenhart. “If we didn’t get along, we wouldn’t be much of a team. It’s like having a second family, states Kristy Anderson. We support each other as much as we can, and I think that's what keeps us number one!
